The mission of the Piedmont Koi and Watergarden Society is to promote appreciation for the hobby of keeping, breeding, and exhibiting goldfish and koi. Members share their knowledge on the best ways to maintain healthy ponds and water gardens, while our social and educational activities generate friendships and a reliable, supportive network.
Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month. The meetings are primarily held at club members’ homes in Charlotte and the surrounding counties. We welcome anyone with an interest in the koi or water garden hobby. We also conduct field trips throughout the year to different koi breeders and members’ ponds. Through the years, the club has been known to put on koi shows, organize pond tours, and hold koi sales. Members and non-members are welcome to attend any event!
The Piedmont Koi and Watergarden Society was formed in 1991 by several families in Charlotte, NC to provide an informal and social avenue for sharing information about creating and maintaining ponds and water gardens and caring for koi. These families worked together to build the club and dedicated their time and energies to the mission of the club. The club continues to flourish today, promoting these interrelated hobbies.
